"I don't want to!"

July 9, 2009

It's really hard to listen to what are parents have to say...like last night my dad told me to wash the dishes and I didn't. Sometimes it's just the little things that we think we can get away with. But actually, obeying/honoring your parents is the 4th commandment. I have no idea why we don't listen...we may think that we can control what we want. I guess that not obeying is just plain selfishness..which is not what God wants from us. God has put parents into this world to protect and help raise Godly children. If you think about it, you could be a parent later on in your life! But God wants us to respect our parents and treat them kindly. He has put them here for us. It's really rude to have a bad attitude about not doing something your parents tell you to do. Trust me, I do it and I know every other kid does. No one really likes taking out the trash or being the 'pooper scooper'. Sometimes I have to pull the extra load around the house because my dad workds late so I have to help clean up. I don't necessarily like to do it but I know that I'm doing it to help out my dad so he doesn't have to do it when he comes home from an exhausting day at work. I know that when I obey my parents, I feel good about it. I know that I tried my best and I did. I love my parents and even though I don't always obey, they still love me. I know that I need push a little more to obey and acknowledge that I'm not perfect. God is there and He can help us with whatever. I am going to list a verse below about obeying

Colossians 3:20
Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.

The Birthday Party

July 2, 2009
Yesterday was my little sisters' 10th birthday. We had so much fun! We brought along Ellie and her siblings as well as our other 5 year old cousin. My Aunt arranged the whole thing (Ellie's mom), and kept everything a surpirze! Ellie and knew though, because we are the older ones (we can keep secrets!). We went to Panda Express, even though the food was barley touched! After we were taken to the  "Surprize Place". Even body thought that it was Color Me Mine! We drove past it and all the girls were like "Oh My Gosh! We are going to Color Me Mine! I love that place!" Ellie and I were just cracking up. We past it and we drove up to the hair salon. The girls went from happy and jittery to "Oh the hair solan"!!!!!! No one wanted to get their hair cut except Ellie and I. Ellie's hair was to the bottom of her back and she cut it to her shoulders! My hair was past my shoulders and I got layers and cut it a little. Ellie's sisters and mine ended up getting their hair cut to their shoulders just like Ellie and I. The hair solan was closed down so we brought our ipod to "Pump up the Party". We ate cake in the solan and played tons of music...we loved dancing around to Poker Face. We came home around 11. Poor hairdressers!  Ellie's garage has a loft so we slept up there. It was awesome! We stayed up till like 2 in the morning! Our sisters watched PPP, and Ellie and I just kinda hung out. It was a really fun night and I thank God for my sister!
